Gratex Belt

Closely wound spirals with straight rods — a stronger semi-closed mesh for small parts and heavy loads.

Semi-closed mesh for small parts

Gratex belting is similar to balanced belting except that the spirals are more closely wound and joined with a straight rod connector.

The result is a stronger, semi-closed mesh that is ideal for conveyors handling small parts and heavy loads.

Construction & working principle

Closely wound spirals joined with straight rod connectors, forming a semi-closed mesh.

Materials

  • Mild steel
  • Stainless steel

Customisation

Width, length, wire diameter, mesh, material and edge finish are made to your requirement. Available edges: Welded edge, Bent edge, Chain edge. See belt edge types.

Advantages

  • Semi-closed surface stops small parts falling through
  • Stronger than open balanced weave

Things to consider

  • Lower open area than balanced weave — less airflow

Specifications

This belt is made to order. Width, length, wire, mesh and edge are selected for your conveyor and product — send us your requirement and we will recommend a specification.

Applications

  • Small parts conveying
  • Heavy-load conveyors
  • Hardening and washing of small components

Industries: Heat Treatment & Industrial

Operation & maintenance

Belt life depends on correct installation and break-in, conveyor alignment and condition, load and load concentration, operating temperature and contaminants. Keep the conveyor aligned, avoid concentrated loads, and inspect edges and joints regularly.
